Dear Families,

This Wednesday is Field Day.  Please send your child to school wearing sunscreen, even if it is a cloudy day.  As we learned in our last science chapter, visible light is separate from ultraviolet light in the electromagnetic spectrum, so it can be present in any type of weather.  If your child is not wearing sunscreen on Field Day, we will be applying it at school.

I have collected all of our cereal box commercials into a class movie.  It is a .wmv file that can play on Windows Media Player on your home computer.  If you would like a copy, please send in a blank recordable CD.  I would be glad to burn one for you.  If you do not have any recordable CDs but would still like a copy of our movie, send me an email request and I’ll take care of it.

Can you believe it is almost the end of the year?  We are going to have an “Egress Celebration” during our half-day on Thursday, May 28.  We are planning to watch City of Ember, which is rated PG for mild peril and some thematic elements.  Please fill out the bottom of this paper to let me know if this is acceptable or not acceptable for your child.  Cut and return to school.

Also, we will not be able to go on our Appomattox trip if we do not have enough drivers.  At this time, I only have 1 permission slip from a student and 2 “maybe” answers from driver/chaperones.  Please return the form by Thursday, May 14.  I will be out from school Tuesday and Wednesday before the field trip, so all plans must be set by Monday.

Now that the threat of another snow day is behind us, Snow Packs must be returned to me.  Please check at home for them and send them back to school.
